Rest in Peace, Robert Stanton Goldfeder

Robert Stanton Goldfeder died August 30, 2020 in Savannah, GA.
Robert was a designer of men’s shirts in the fashion and western industry.

He started Acorn Shirts out of his one bedroom NYC apartment in 1977. This would be the first of many successes he would experience in his life as a business man.

He approached each day like it was his last. Determined to make an impact and always ready to roll up his sleeves to accomplish whatever needed to be done.

A Pittsburgher through and through, he approached life with the mentality “Never up, Never down”. He truly believed that if you give life your very best, and are ready to put in the work it will feel like a success, good, bad, or indifferent.

Justin his son, state’s that as he has gotten older, he now knows this to be an absolute truth. Robert may not have won them all, but he gave it everything he had: mind, body, and soul. This to me will forever cement his legacy as a successful man, son, brother, husband and father.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Vige, his step-son Justin Borres and his wife Lisa.

Howard George

         Memorial for Howard George….

10/20/15 gone too soon!

“Say not in grief ‘he is no more’ but live in thankfulness that he was’ (Hebrew proverb)

Months have gone by that we lost a ‘giant’ in our brotherhood. Howard was larger than life and loved the brothers of ZBT. I believe that this was always his number 1 priority in life.

YSU was the beginning of our adult lives and created the core of the lifelong friendships that continue 50 plus years.

College and fraternities go hand in hand in our social scene, however, many fraternities fail to maintain the brotherhood in the years after college.

Howard, was the key that kept ZBT/YSU alive. Having been a brother, and friend his concern for his ‘brothers’ was never ending.

In 2010, he began the planning of the 1st reunion. This alone is a daunting task. With the help of many, he relied on those close to him for suggestions and advice.

The 2011 reunion was held in Las Vegas and went off without a hitch., (although, Howard would probably not agree.) It was monumental to have the turnout and to reconnect with those whom had lost touch. Due to the success, it was decided to continue the new tradition every two years. He started planning almost immediately.

2013, the 2nd reunion was held again in Las Vegas. Most of the spouses or significant others were invited. Howard was also instrumental with the suggestion of the ‘girls’ enjoying a dinner on the night the ‘guys’ did their own. Chalk up another success!

2015, the 3rd one. Howard’s planning made this past one probably the most memorable. For those that were unable to attend this one or any of the others, please know that his love for ZBT and the brothers consumed him. It was during the planning of the last reunion that his health began to fail and he succumbed to the big ‘C’.

He became an actor, preforming on television in such sitcoms as “Night Court”, etc. Also as a Stage, Broadway and the ‘Big Screen’ actor with many accolades to his name. “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Merchant of Venice” are just some of his accomplishments.

His craft also included writing and editing scene plays.

As with many whose lives touch ours remember this saying:

“Our joys will be greater, our love will be deeper, our lives will be fuller, because we shared your moment.”

R.I.P. our dear friend, with love YSU/ZBT brotherhood.
